How Your Group
Can Help

Get Your School, Church, Organization or Family Involved!

We Can Help YOU Help A Rural African Community!

We want to help your school/church/organization/family act locally to making a global impact. We want to be a facilitator to your project. Global equity is important and we have been fortunate to have so many great connections to schools and organizations that wanted to make a difference.

Most of our work to date has been in the schools in a program we call our Global Students Program. Here is how it works:

1. Reach out to Strides for Africa and indicate your desire to make a difference (often through a clean water well at a school or community in need).

2. We can than provide a virtual or in-person presentation to your group/students that tells the story of the water crisis in sub-Saharan Africa.

3. Some schools/organizations just want to learn about the water issue, and some want to take it to the next step – fundraising.

4. Strides for Africa provides potential projects, and the school/organization tackles the fundraising for the project that best suits their effort. We can even share lesson plans tied to Linda Sue Park’s book “A Long Walk to Water”.

5. Connect the fundraisers to the people in need to share a global connection.

6. With sufficient fundraising, construct the project (typically between February and May each year, which correlates to the end of the dry season (lowest water table)

7. Share construction progress and well completion photos with the fundraising team.

8. If desired, Strides for Africa delivers a final presentation with the school celebrating their global impact, provides a photo plaque to display, shares a completion report with digital photo files, and, if helpful, we will also share a poster board summarizing the story of your water project.
