Denmark Viking Academy and Algoma Venture Academy
Organized in Partnership with our Global Student Program
Making an Impact Locally and Globally
We are Denmark Viking Academy and Algoma Venture Academy – two public, community-based charter schools in Northeast Wisconsin. Our schools are dedicated to learning about local and global challenges as well as taking steps to engage with and address those challenges. Our students focus on creating meaningful impact in the community through service learning and personal projects; this year, partnering with Strides for Africa to fund a clean water well is one of those initiatives.
Our Schools here in the United States are fundraising to bring clean water to 1,289 students at GS Kabare Schools in the Kayonza District of Rwanda, Africa. Through our partnership, rainwater collection and filtration systems will be installed.
Join us in making a difference by donating here. Thank you for supporting us as we work to bring clean water to those who need it most!
Our Partnership with Strides for Africa.
This is our first year partnering with Strides for Africa on a clean water project, and we are excited to bring safe drinking water to a community in Africa.
Our Global Student Program Collaboration
As part of our middle school curriculums, we are reading A Long Walk to Water to learn more about the experiences of those living in areas with limited access to clean water.
Our students’ fundraising campaign is centered around a collaborative, community canvas mosaic project where we are encouraging all ages and abilities, near and far, to participate in creating 6x6 works of art. Student and professional artists from Nairobi, Kenya are also participating by creating over 30 of the works.
