Liberia
Strides for Africa has been working with local partners Humanity Care Liberia, Live Life Liberia, and One Life Liberia since 2015 following the 2013-2015 ebola outbreak. To date our work has helped bring clean water sources to 26 locations benefitting as estimated 33,437+ people. Our current work is focused in Nimba County, a remote northern county in Liberia.
Wehplay Public School

This well serves the students of Wehplay Public School in Zoe-Geh District of Nimba County. Funded by the family of Dave Mankell.
Zokeseh Public School
2024: Hand Dug Well
This well serves the students of Zokeseh Public School in Nimba County. This well was completed in partnership with William Floyd Middle School as part of their Global Student Program.
Sackor Public School

This well serves both the school as well as the community of Bahn City in Nimba County. Partially funded by the Middleton Interact Club and Middleton High School.
Miaplay Bonnah Public School

This well serves both the school as well as the Miaplay Community in Nimba County. Funded by family of Dorothy Rodefeld and Hope Lutheran Church in her memory.
Karkpo Village

This well serves the community of Karkpo Village in Nimba County. This well was completed in the memory of Mary Bosold, who was a longtime Strides for Africa supporter and brought laughter and kindness to positively impact everyone in her world.

Our partners, Humanity Care Liberia and named the school after the founder of our trusted U.S. Partner, Feeding Mouths, Filling Minds. This well has a solar-powered pump and demonstrates running water to its students
Zehglay Town Well #2

Upon visiting in 2019, we realized that this remote community's were not fully served by a single water well due to the geographic spread of this community. In 2021, this beautiful remote community received its 2nd clean water well.
Isaac S. Davis Memorial Institute
2021: Hand Dug Well
Upon visiting in 2019, this school was going to be closed due to not having a clean water source for its students. The completion of this well saved this school, which was vitally important to the community of Buchanan. This well was funded in memory of Tim Sweeney, who established Strides for Africa as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2017.
