2021: Solar Panel Installation in Clinics

A special thanks to all of our donors that have helped us Power 100 Clinics in the DRC! Our partner, NovoMoto has been working to install solar at 100 clinics and they are very close to finishing the installations.

Adding this phase of installations to the previous 25 clinics, Strides for Africa will have had a role to bringing improved lighting and phone charging capabilities to 125 clinics to the greater Kinchasa area - home to over 12 million people in the DRC.

NovoMoto is tracking the social impact of these solar installations, and the early numbers are very impressive:

1.) Over 46,000 patients have benefitted from improved clinic conditions

2.) Over 7,500 children were born under modern lighting, which has helped to improve the care that babies and mothers receive

3.) Over 1,100 operations were undertaken with bright and reliable LED lighting instead of under flashlights, candles, or kerosene lamps See less
